House, Île de Ré
Complete renovation and redesign of a 145 sqm house dating back to the 1970s, transformed into a 250 sqm family home rooted in the heart of an exceptional landscape between dunes and forest.
Inspired by Brazilian modernism, the architecture fosters a constant dialogue between indoors and outdoors. The living spaces open up generously through six-meter pocket sliding doors, allowing natural light to flow through and creating a visual continuity with the surrounding nature in every room.
In the living room, a bespoke coffee table by artist Ben Arpea punctuates the space, asserting the unique character of the home. The movable-floor pool, fully retractable, extends this pursuit of seamless integration: it disappears into the landscape, blurring the boundaries between architecture and nature.
